Moritz is a free, GPL Blender 5.3 fork that tries to feel like 3ds Max, in early alpha for Windows.
Max features: The Max keymap and navigation, a right-click quad menu, Transform Type-In, and a Command Panel with drag-created parametric primitives. Blender and Moritz keymaps can be switched with one click, so tutorials still work.
Editable Poly: Vertex, Edge, Border, Polygon and Element modes, using Max's tool names. The Edit Poly modifier can sit mid-stack with the modifiers below it staying live, and Collapse To and instanced modifiers are supported.
Compatibility: Files stay .blend. Stock files open unchanged in Moritz, and Moritz files open in Blender 5.3, though Moritz-only modifiers are disabled there.
Status: Early alpha, Windows only, with many features still missing. The author wants bug reports and wishlist items on the Discord, and feedback from both Max and Blender users.
